Skosh Films, under the RSG umbrella with ResQ, is proud to spotlight MacAlpine’s Soda Fountain, a Phoenix institution since 1929, with a special video and interview session on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 3 PM to 4 PM. Located at 2303 N 7th St, Phoenix, AZ 85006, this historic diner has been a beloved hangout for generations, serving up nostalgia with its vintage soda fountain, malts, and over 99 soda flavors—from pickle to red velvet. Originally Birch’s 7th Street Pharmacy, it was renamed by Fred MacAlpine in 1938 and has since hosted icons like Barry Goldwater and Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as countless locals savoring egg creams and ice cream sodas.
Our team will be on-site to capture the diner’s timeless charm, from its original counter and malt machine to the bubblegum-adorned underside left by 1950s greasers. We’ll film the retro ambiance and, time permitting, interview the team behind MacAlpine’s recent reopening after a challenging closure during the COVID-19 pandemic. Skosh Films is crafting a production that celebrates this “cool thing”—a piece of Americana that’s stood the test of time in Phoenix’s desert landscape. Join us to relive the magic of MacAlpine’s Soda Fountain through our lens—follow Skosh Films for updates on this project and catch the final film soon. Want to collaborate on capturing history? today!
